Biography
Sara Calero was born in Madrid in 1983. She graduated with honors from the Madrid Conservatory in 2002. At the age of 17, she debuted as a soloist under the direction of master José Granero at the Festival de Jerez with the piece “La noche,” as part of the show “A mi manera” alongside artists of the stature of Lola Greco, Maribel Gallardo, María Pagés, and Beatriz Martín.
That same year, she served as the choreographer for the production “Zarzuelas en Blanco y Negro” for the Teatro Romea in Murcia, and a year later, she joined the Taller de la Compañía Andaluza de Danza.

Founded in 2011, Sara Calero’s company has produced 13 stagings with great international success. Her career stands out for her presence on prestigious stages such as the Teatro Real in Madrid or the Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv, and has been recognized with awards such as the Revelation Prize at the Festival de Jerez.
With a consolidated presence in festivals across Europe, America, and Africa, the company combines Spanish dance with non-conventional spaces. Projects like La Finitud or the recent premiere of El Renacer ensure her projection as a cutting-edge reference with a schedule of tours and premieres planned through 2027.
